Deep Tissue Massage
Deep tissue massage is a type of massage therapy that focuses on realigning deeper layers of muscles and connective tissue. This massage releases the chronic patterns of tension in the body through slow movement and deep pressure. This massage can be used for specific work on concentrated areas of tension and pain or for full body. It is especially helpful for chronically tense and contracted areas such as stiff necks, low back tightness, and sore shoulders
Soft Tissue Release Massage
Soft tissue release is a form of bodywork designed specifically around the area of neuromuscular therapy. This type of therapy focuses on
increasing recovery rates of muscular injuries, fixing muscular imbalances, and relieving chronic pain. Soft tissue release is a popular form of
therapy among athletes. It is a quick and effective way of achieving strength and flexibility after muscular injuries. Pressure is applied to the muscles
while it is being stretched. The integrated movement technique helps to correct muscular imbalances, including areas that have been injured or have scar tissue.
This therapy allows you to communicate with the nervous system; it is not just a manipulation of tissue. The application of rhythmic pressure during a stretching
routine is communicating to the nervous system and reprogramming the muscles. This will eliminate the old muscle memory of how the nervous system thinks your
muscle should normally be which is why pain persists. When trauma occurs to the muscle tissue, the affected area becomes inflamed. Once the muscle memory is
evoked during Soft Tissue Release, the muscles are encouraged to return to their normal state and the inflammation decreases.
Anyone who is suffering from chronic pain or healing from an injury, this massage will help to eliminate negative muscle patterns held within the body.
Neuromuscular Therapy (NMT)
Neuromuscular Therapy is a thorough program of recovery from acute and chronic pain syndromes which utilizes specific massage therapy, flexibility stretching,
and home care to eliminate the causes of most neuromuscular pain patterns. NMT enhances the function of joints, muscles, biomechanics (movement)
and it releases endorphins, the body's own natural pain killers. This specific and scientific approach to muscular pain relief will help to bring about
balance between the musculoskeletal system and the nervous system. Six physiological factors that may create or intensify pain patterns are Ischemia,
Trigger Points Nerve Entrapment/Compression, Postural Distortions, Nutrition, and Emotional Wellbeing
This can be part of all wellness programs complementing work with a physical therapist or with a personal trainer.
Sports Massage
Sports Massage is a very deep penetrating massage. It is a specific form of massage that differs from other massages. Concentrating on all muscle groups, it has therapeutic benefits designed to address concerns typically used before, during, and after an athletic event. The purpose of this massage is to alleviate stress and tension which builds up in the body. Sports Massage therapy will prepare an athlete for peak performance, to drain away fatigue, alleviate pain and/or relieve swelling, and to reduce muscle tension. It is a massage used to promote flexibility and to prevent injuries while reducing the possibility of cramps and muscle spasms. Whatever activity you may participate in, jogging, tennis, swimming, cycling, golf, riding, dancing, etc.; if you use your body demandingly this is the massage for you.
Hot Stone Massage
Hot Stone Massage is a massage that incorporates heated smooth, flat stones which can be placed in strategic points on the body, or held in the hands of the
therapist and used in conjunction with certain massage strokes. The heat from the stones allows the muscles to relax, enabling the therapist to use increased
pressure. For those that prefer a lighter touch, this is a relaxing way to get the deeper work they may require.
This is a great massage for anyone especially during the colder weather seasons. Hot stones will add an extra level of comfort and relaxation to any
massage session.
Pregnancy Massage
Pregnancy Massage generally consists of Swedish Massage, where the main goals are to relax muscle tension and improve blood circulation and lymph flow
through light to medium pressure applied throughout the body. During the session, the therapist may choose to use either a Prego Pillow, which allows the client to
lie safely on her stomach and back into the later stages of pregnancy, or to have the client on her side in the side-lying position, supported by pillows.
Studies have indicated pregnancy massage can lower anxiety, decrease symptoms of depression, relieve muscle and joint pains, and improve labor symptoms and
the newborn's health. Other potential benefits of prenatal massage are:
